Job Description

The Quality Technician is responsible for performing daily quality activities in the plant which includes but not limited to process audits, GMP audits, various in-process or laboratory testing to ensure every ingredient and finished goods meet product specifications. The Quality Technician is responsible for identifying quality issues, reporting them to the appropriate persons, initiating the corrective action process, and document them.

Responsibilities

Monitors inspect and test the products in-process or in the lab. Ensures the products meet all specifications. Records all information and reports any discrepancies.

Monitors and checks the calibration of measuring equipment and the operation of metal detectors to ensure proper operation. Reports any problems immediately.

Performs formula audits and process audits, documents audit results.

Monitors adherence to all quality programs including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices. Reports any problems to the appropriate Lead/Supervisor.

Assist in the investigation related to customer complaints.

Promotes and facilitates safe work practices at all times. Takes appropriate actions to ensure the safety of all Dawn team members.

Performs environmental swabbing/Testing as per the schedule.

Education + Experience

High School Diploma/VOC.

2 years of experience and/or equivalent education in supporting plants and assessing the effectiveness of plant quality and food safety programs.

Knowledge of basic lab equipment such as water activity, viscometers, etc.

Basic math, record keeping, and computer skills.
