Job Description

Daily metrology measurement support for the ESS team and accelerate data collection. Accelerate Govt funded program activities supporting the deposition tool owner, as need basis.


- May participate in designing metrology experiments, preparing hypotheses to be testedand executing metrology data collection.

- Supports data analysis with standard deviation and identify they data quality; improve the data quality by minimizing errors, use of standards or calibration.

- Support hardware, process and metrology teams activities and also work across shifts, if necessary.

- Support the team in sample preparation, packaging and shipment activities.

- May communicate with team on the findings and data summary.

- Supports in performing experimental design approaches to validate findings.

- May identify appropriate software (eg. JMP) to discover patterns.

- Responsible for making minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of work area.

- Update and maintain analytical procedures if necessary.

- Applies scientific and mathematical principles to collect data and provide analysis.

- Follow lab protocol for safety, PPE, proper waste disposal and documentation.

Education + Experience

- Should have Associated degree in science/engineering or Bachelor degree in science/engineering.

- Should have the knowledge of the following metrology (data collection, calculating standard deviation, summarize the data and make presentation. Calibrate the instrument whenever necessary). Instructions would be provided initially on the metrology tool operation and standard operating procedures.

   - Microscope.

   - Optical.

   - 3D laser.

   - Thickness measurement.

   - SEM.

   - ICP (Inductively coupled plasma).

   - Karl Fisher Titration for moisture analysis.

   - Coin cell making and testing.

- Familiarity with the JMP, Excel etc. software tools.

- Proactively assist scientists and engineers in the lab,accelerate their day to day work by providing quality data.
